Everything you need to know before you enroll, about the course, membership, payments, and the F-1 journey.

About The Margam

The Margam is an online learning platform for international students on F-1 visas coming to the United States. It combines a structured two-hour video course and a private LinkedIn community, all in one place.

Two former F-1 students who went through this journey themselves. They built The Margam to share what they learned, the mistakes, the confusion, and the clarity that came from experience, so the next generation of students can arrive better prepared.

No. The Margam is not an admissions consultancy, visa consultancy, job placement service, or recruiting agency. We are two former F-1 students sharing our learnings and struggles in a structured format. Nothing more, nothing less.

International students at any stage of the F-1 journey, preparing to travel, navigating their first semester, or planning CPT and OPT. It is also written to be clear and useful for parents who are supporting their child through this process.

No. The Margam is educational content, not legal or immigration advice. Your DSO is your official, authorized source for all F-1 decisions. The Margam helps you understand the system so you can work with your DSO more effectively.

The Course

Free information is scattered, inconsistent, and often wrong. Most students spend their first year running after last-minute fixes for problems that were entirely avoidable. The Margam gives you one structured, accurate path, so you arrive prepared instead of reactive.

Missed SEVIS deadlines, wrong advice from friends about CPT and OPT, enrollment changes that affect your immigration status, and the stress of not knowing what to do next. These happen to thousands of students every year. Most are completely avoidable with early awareness.

Five chapters: the U.S. immigration system (SEVIS, DSO, CBP, USCIS), preparation before travel, your first 30 days, CPT and OPT strategy, and real student stories showing what thriving, struggling, and preparing early actually look like.

Approximately two hours, delivered in short focused modules. Most students complete it in one or two sittings.

Yes. Watch modules in any order and return to them as many times as you need within your 30-day access window.

English, written and delivered in plain, clear language accessible to students at all proficiency levels.

Yes. The course includes a workbook to help you apply what you learn to your own timeline and situation.

Payments and Access

A one-time fee of $200 gives you full course access for 30 days, plus discounted webinar pricing and priority access to future cohorts and scholarships for that same 30-day window. Membership is separate ($10/month or $100/year) and adds the private LinkedIn community and ongoing benefits.

The window is intentional. The Margam is a focused learning commitment, not a passive library. Most students finish in one or two sittings. The 30-day limit exists to help you take it seriously, the same way the F-1 journey requires you to take deadlines seriously.

The private LinkedIn community, discounted pricing on webinars, workshops, and events, and priority access to future cohorts and scholarships.

Yes. Membership is available on its own at $10/month or $100/year, whether or not you have purchased the course. It gives you the private LinkedIn community, discounted webinar and event pricing, and priority access to future cohorts and scholarships.
